Philosophy

My seven-year-old sister brought me Henry and the Clubhouse by Beverly Cleary. She said, “Taylor, I want to give this to Robin Hood Reads.” As kids we are often taught about possession and sharing, but are we shown sacrifice? Sacrifice is not giving without expecting anything in return; it is giving because we know that a small loss for us will result in a greater gain for someone else. People say love knows no age, and neither does giving. With Robin Hood Reads, we hope to emphasize the fact that while “nobody can do everything, everyone can do something.” You don’t have to be 16, 18, or accompanied by an adult to serve others.

“Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.”
-Mother Teresa
